Medical Gases
A 4 hour course aimed at introducing a systematic method of using medical gasses in first aid. This mixes practical learning with scenarios of real situations.
NB All who attend this course must hold a valid HSE First Aid at Work certificate

Elements Covered:

• Oxygen Therapy
• Oxygen for Resuscitation
• Entonox Administration

Content:

• Basic Airway Maintenance – including hand held suction and airway adjuncts
• Equipment – storage, safety and maintenance of all equipment
• Ventilating a patient – the use of a bag valve and mask for assisted ventilations of a patient
• Indications and contraindications – for the uses of medical gasses
