Emergency First Aid (REC L2)
The course introduces basic first aid skills and enables people to deal with initial treatment in rural areas.
- Concept - based course to enable practical improvisation and adaptability
- A two day lay course for group leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and outdoor professionals
- Promotes awareness of delayed medical help and adverse environmental conditions
The course is recognised by most National Governing bodies (RYA, BCU, MLTE & MLTW) as a basic outdoor First Aid qualification.
Content of the programme:
- emergency – a methodical system to manage emergencies safely
- environment – heat stress, cold stress, hot injuries, cold injuries
- illness – chest pain, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes
- injury – head, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, bones, soft tissue, eyes
- rescue – transportation, communication
